Its great to see so many people turning out for the classes in Sunnylands Community Centre.
In the first part of the class we have been focusing on the basic salsa step and last week we began to look at some more complicated steps, with the dance move 'Changing places'.
In the Merengue sessions we looked at the man wrap (not the man trap as some want to learn) and are starting to dance the Merengue in a circle formation.

It's nice to see the choice of dance styles in Belfast is increasing and this week see's the start of a Jive Practice/club on Wednesday and Tango workshop/Practice/club on Friday. Plus John Hoey is bringing Monina and Julián back to Belfast on Sunday. Also it is great to say that we’re going to have to move the times of the beginner salsa classes on Sunday as we’re running out of space!

Just a quick note about the classes in Madison’s this Sunday night. The Tango Beginners and La Rueda have been cancelled for this Sunday (8/8/04). They will be back as normal the following week. There is no change in the Salsa Beginners (7:00 - 8:00pm), Salsa Improvers (8:00 - 9:00pm) or Disco. They will be running as normal.

First off, a total of £780 was raised for the NSPCC due to a whopping 171 people attending.
This has almost doubled the number we had six months ago and we owe our thanks to all the teachers who have helped promote these charity nights through their classes and to everyone who has dragged their unsuspecting mates along.
